PROJECTS

Intervenxions

In late 2019, I helped launch an online publication for the Latinx Project, an interdisciplinary center for arts and culture at New York University.

During my tenure, I commissioned over 200 articles and produced three edited collections, including two print publications of original essays, interviews, criticism, and reportage. I also established editorial and submission guidelines, and designed the website layout and homepage.

Huellas Maagazine

In 2019, I co-founded a bilingual longform magazine with Pablo Medina Uribe and Laura  Kauer García.

Huellas is an inclusive platform for emerging writers of the Americas. It is also a transnational project, with contributors and collaborators representing 17 countries, whose work is made accessible for wider audiences in English and Spanish. To date, we have published three volumes, most recently a volume featuring writers from the Latin American diaspora based in Queens, NY.

Read in English or Spanish.

OLLANTAY Center for the Arts

Founded in 1977 by Cuban-American playwright Pedro Monge Rafuls with support from a community of Latin American artists and “Hispanic” cultural advocates, the OLLANTAY Center for the Arts was the first Latin American cultural center in the borough of Queens.

In October 2023, I published a 2,000-word article that includes a brief history of the organization. I also launched an Instagram page to disseminate archival materials as I continue my research.
